In the beginning...

<sub>The day had been like any other. A little over cast in the beginning but it eventually cleared. Fae was almost 6 months old and her wings were growing bigger every day. She still couldn't take off and soar like the birds but she was working on it. This often led the filly astray since most of the other foals didn't like all the wind and dust she kicked up trying. Shamy was there, always, supporting her and encouraging her but she was starting to sort of like quiet time to herself. After some failed attempts she was ready to take a break and just snoop around her pasture. The humans had started rotating the mare herds to make sure they all got enough grass and this one, in particular, was new to Fae. Sniffing around she soon found herself at the fence line but the scene there wasn't one she had encountered before.

There was another horse there...a colt she figured by his looks, who was struggling and failing around on the fence. He appeared to be stuck in whatever genius attempt he had been making to steal grass from the pasture. Fae approached carefully, ears up and eyes forward. Shamy had been telling her that when colts got bigger you had to be careful. That they could play rough and didn't have control of their Hormones. Yes....she had been given the 'grown up' talk a little bit when the colts had been separated from the rest of the foals.
As she got closer though the colt finally noticed her and stopped his flailing. He laughed weakly then looked up as she approached.
"H-hi..."
She had never seen this colt before...who was his mom and dad? And WHERE were they?
"You're not supposed to be here." She hmphed as she stopped to give him a small glare. The colt made a face and snorted.
"Well duh...heads aren't supposed to be in fences. Can you help?" He asked as she stopped and glared.
"You're not supposed to be here."
"Ok I get that lady-"
"LADY!?" She huffed as her tail swished.
"Well....yeah. You are a girl right?" The colt asked as he raised an eye. That actually made Fae blush under her black coat.
"Well....yeah..."
"Then you're a lady." He snickered before wiggling some. "Now can you please help? This hurts..." He sighed as Fae finally moved over. He seemed safe...

After some failed ideas and attempts to free him the pair of foals finally got their acts together and freed the colt.
"Awesome!! Gee thanks." The colt grinned from the other side of the fence. "What's your name Lady?" He asked then as Fae made a face again.
"Fae..."
"Well Iiiiii am Dardanus!" He grinned as he struck a pose and puff out his chest. "Cool wings by the way. How'd ya get em?"
"U-um.....the humans..."
"Eeeww...people? You have people?" Dardanus snorted as Fae nodded.
"Don't you?"
"Pssshhh...no way. I'm a free spirit. I go where I want and do what I want." He prided as he took a few prancy steps along the fence.
"And get stuck in fences?" Fae smirked as he stopped his prancing and glared. Fae just giggled like mad and he pouted.
"Not funny."
"Yeah it is." She hummed as the colt rolled his eyes and got over it.
"Hey! You wanna play?" He asked then as Fae grew uneasy.
"I...I um...." She shuffled back away from the fence a little as she looked away from him.
"Hey....I'm not gonna do anything. I just wanna see if those wings of yours make you any faster....can you fly yet? I bet you can." She smiled some and watched as he started to wiggle through the fence. THIS time he didn't get stuck.
"I...I well...I guess...I can't yet but..." Soon he was through the fence and grinning in front of her.
"Not yet." He grinned as he gave a playful rear. "Come'on! Let's go run!!!"</sub>
